Nuestra Historia
Él tuvo la visión de que las personas llegarían a la Tienda de Compromisos a firmar contratos que los obligarían a alcanzar sus metas personales, como bajar de peso o dejar de fumar. Dean experimento con este concepto al hacer contratos consigo mismo (ingresa aquí para leer su historia personal de pérdida de peso). Mientras tanto, dirigió una investigación y publicó un estudio sobre los Contratos de Compromiso como herramienta de ayuda para las personas que quieren ahorrar.

El concepto de Contrato de Compromiso se basa en dos principios bien conocidos de las finanzas conductuales:

Dean creyó que la consciencia social y de salud del mercado demandan un servicio que facilite a las personas alcanzar sus metas.
Discutió sus ideas con sus compañeros académicos Barry Nalebuff, (profesor de la Escuela de Administración de Yale y co-fundador de Honest Tea) e Ian Ayres (profesor de la Escuela de Derecho de Yale y autor de Super Crunchers: Why Thinking-By-Numbers is the New Way to be Smart). A Barry e Ian les encantó la propuesta y muy pronto la idea de ‘stickK’ se convirtió en posibilidad realistica.
Barry les presentó a Dean e Ian a uno de sus estudiantes de Yale, Jordan Goldberg, qué se unió al equipo y aceptó la oferta de ayudar a lanzar esta nueva empresa. De ahí en adelante, Jordan empezó a trabajar con lo que hoy conocemos como stickK.

Ian Ayres es abogado y economista. Es el profesor William K. Townsend en la Escuela de Derecho de Yale y profesor de la Escuela de Administración de Yale. Ha publicado nueve libros, incluyendo, 'Super Crunchers: Why Thinking-By-Numbers is the New Way to be Smart' en el 2007.

Jordan Goldberg es el Director Ejecutivo de stickK. Se graduó de la Universidad de Yale en el 2006, donde obtuvo su BA en Estudios Americanos en el 2006. Jordan es becario de la Beca Silver Anniversary de la Escuela de Administración de Yale, una beca del programa de maestría otorgado a 6 estudiantes de pregrado cada año.
Luego de completar el primer año de su programa de maestría, Jordan optó por tomar un descanso de la universidad para dedicarse tiempo completo a stickK. |
Co-fundador
Dean Karlan es profesor asistente en la Escuela de Economía de la Universidad de Yale. Dean ha llevado a cabo una extensa investigación académica sobre los Contratos de Compromiso para ahorrar y dejar de fumar. También es presidente de Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), una organización sin fines de lucro fundada en el 2002, que aplica técnicas rigurosas de investigación para desarrollar soluciones a problemas del mundo real al que se enfrentan las personas pobres en países en vías de desarrollo.
En el 2007, se le otorgó el premio Presidential Early Carreer Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), el honor más alto presentado por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos a científicos e ingenieros sobresalientes que empiezan sus carreras independientes. Dean es becario de investigación del Jameel Poverty Action Lab de M.I.T., y co-director de la iniciativa Financial Access, un consorcio creado con apoyo de la fundación Bill y Melinda Gates. Alex has been a long time web developer for stickK since 2011. Having a Bachelor of Computer Science he currently does PHP, HTML, JS and CSS programming mainly. He also likes to learn new emerging technologies like 3D printing and VR.

Jerry joined the stickK team in the spring of 2017 after troubleshooting for the Community Experience team at Meetup. After being stickK's Product Manager for 3 years, Jerry has transitioned into Web Development where he currently focuses on building stickK with JavaScript and PHP.
Jerry graduated from Grinnell College in 2014 with a degree in Economics. Out of the office, he enjoys playing ping pong and chess with his dog, Siggy. |
Applied Behavioral Economist - Product
Pablo joined the stickK Team in March 2018 after graduating from New York University with a dual degree in Economics and Politics. His interest in behavioral insights and his passion for research and development led him to stick(K) around with us.
Pablo is passionate about his home country Mexico, he loves to talk about the future (and its possibilities), occasionally enjoys discussing politics with his friends over beers, and loves to read anything related to philosophy, history or semantics. |
Project Manager
Pier Luc joined the stickK team during summer 2014. His position at the company is managing the releases for the android and iOS platforms.
Pier Luc likes to work on various projects at the same time and has a particular interest with home automation to simplify daily tasks at home. |
iOS Developer
Vincent has exclusively been developing on mobile since 2013. He started off by learning Android and he's now a specialized iOS engineer.
In his spare time, he loves to attend car related events and learn more on how these machines work. |
Android Developer
Yassine joined the stickK team in March 2018. As an Engineer in Computer Science, he has been working on maintaining and improving the stickK Android application.
Yassine likes sports, especially basketball. During his spare time he loves to work on making and developing games. |
